  1. You can bash the Vaad all day but this shows you the result of a lack of achdus. The seniors are together and we are busy bashing each other and splitting the vote.

    1. The Vaad broke up the achdus here its time they do serious soul searching. Raitzik was registered to run a few months ago. The vaad woke up a few days before and put up a candidate thus splitting the frum vote.

    2. You can spin it any way you want. You are entitled to your opinion. Bottom line this shows what lack of achdus does.

  2. Maybe the Vaad should start backing candidates that actually benefit the oilam.

  3. The vaad got what it wanted it prevented the shopper candidate.

  4. What about the refrendom?

  5. You can definitely have your opinions about the Vaad. But once it becomes fashionable to not listen to the Vaad ,there will always be a 5 way split between various yidishe endorsed candidates with the seniors candidate winning. That's whats happening with Trump. He is only winning because the othet guys are splitting the vote between the normal, people .

    1. Nu what will be so bad they dont like taxes and uncontrolled development either and if they do not want to allow yeshivas built in res. neighborhoods no one will call them kofrim

  6. The vaad is an old boys club whose members are from the movers and shakers. When it seems that there is no transparency in the decision making process people eventually get turned off. They cried wolf too many times and now its catching up. Its hard to have the trust of the tzibbur when members have major conflicts of interests. From real estate developers to agency heads who receive township monies to others, add the rising taxes people just had enough. There is no representative for the chasidishe oilam at all so people feel no shibud for the vaad.

  7. Dont write off the vaad at all, they will say there was not enough time to vote or get the message out. They still control the olam and will always play the daas torah game.

  8. You dont have to feel a shibud for the Vaad or anybody else. Bottom line we all know not listening to the Vaad means losing all votes the seniors as we will be so fractured to always split our vote.

    1. Such nonsense. The people who voted for Follman would have stayed home if not for the Vaad.maybe 100 of them would have voted for Raitzik but thats no way enough. You just want to spin anything your way. The only way to beat the seniors on this one was to listen to the Vaad.

  11. Did the shopper boys arrange all those absentee ballots? somethin fishy here..

  12. The people who hate the Vaad will spin and say anything ,regardless of its accuracy just to bash the vaad.Facts Without the Vaad there woyld have been about 300 to 350 voters split between Follman and Loigman .With the Vaad we had 772 voters who were enough to beat the seniors if we had achdus.

  13. Vaad lost because the Lakewood scoop and Lakewood shopper did not run the ad for the vaad endorsement otherwise they would have won by thousands.

  14. The vaad could have backed Raitzik from the get go and not play games and politics sneaking in a few days before when they got pressure to knock out the shoppers candidate. That is the fact. Had they done so the olam would have trusted them and come together it is their own failing, stop spinning for the vaad when the writing is on the wall.

    1. First your spin is that the Vaad should not have gotten involved at all and Raitzik would have won. When you are shown the true facts that without the Vaad ,there werent enough voters at all ,then your spin is that the Vaad should have endorsed Raitzik. Well once they endorse, then they endorse who they want ,not who the bloggers want. You just cant admit that not voting for the Vaad is a lack of Achdus which will always split our vote to a loss to tye seniors. Tonight proved it.

    2. Many Follman votes were not vaad votes but more anti Loigman or pro loiue votes. Had the vaad been serious they would have gotten involved early on and maybe get more people to vote. The way they played they blew it for all!!

  15. its a election of not much interests people have better things to do on a motzei shabbos. I dont know why the vaad even bothered to get involved here.

  16. Your reporting is not accurate. If their candidate got 482 absentee ballots ,then he only got 176 actual votes today. That is not exactly called the seniors coming out in strong numbers all day.

  17. Weisberg does not have the muster to produce results that a shenky robo call does

  18. The residents are finally starting taking back the town from the VAAD.

  19. If you call anybody but frume yiden the resident ,then you are right

  20. Maybe next general election the Anti-Vaad Candidate can collaborate with the seniors = Anti Vaad + Plus Seniors = Vaad Candidate loses = No more uncontrolled development - traffic. Current committee gets the boot. We dont need unzere on the board it would solve a lot of our problems and anti-semitism if it was nish eine fun unzere on all of these boards especially the school boards let the seniors take of everything our interests align 99% of the time. That is how it used to be in the old days before all these askanim had to get involved

  21. I was there, the vaad voters were the old loyalists who came out, no new residents or young couples came down to vote. Its time for a change

  22. No problem. You and the seniors will make sure we have no shuls or Mosdos hachinuch.

    1. We already have unzere taking care of that. In Westgate you have unzere fighting shuls ask them how to go about it.They hired a lawyer to stop it.

  24. To 6:06am. Your right. Hertz pulled that one off with a Boe election a couple years ago.and it was the first loss of the vast on a Boe election. That is the way to go.

  25. Most of the residents in this town are more aligned with the seniors than the Vaad. The seniors stand for lowering taxes and limiting development and traffic. If they would only see the real facts about busing and how it is the State that is causing the problems, there would be no difference.

what does the Vaad stand for?

    ReplyDelete
  26. How can the seniors have the chutzpah to be for limiting development. There are people living here for 40 years who want to have their children and grandchildren live near them. The seniors took a property zoned for 1 house per 2 acres and got it rezoned for 12 homes per acre ,they brought tens of thousands to what was zoned for a hundred houses, they moved from out of town in the last 10 to 15 years ,and they have the chutzpah to tell yeshvaleit who are living here for 30 to 40 years that we should stop building so the yeshivaleits children should not be able to live near their parents .Chutzpah. Let the seniors zone their land back to what it was zoned for and move back to where they came from. We were here before then. The seniors overbuilt Lakewood and ruined it for us.

    1. Please tell me which yeshivaliet can afford 450k-650k for a house or is it brooklynlite or monseylite. No one is saying no more development just do it with some seichel not one new main street has been added in the past 10 yrs

      Delete
    2. You are wrong. On a 450k or even 500k house with a basement rental and a 4 per cent mortgage rate ,the payment outlay for a 375000 loan even after including the real estate taxes is not much more than rent on a 3 or 4 bedroom apt or townhouse. So yes yeshivaleit who have lived here for over 30 years and now have jobs and income and want to help their children with a down payment ,want to find new housing nearby. Dont just think of yourself or the selfish seniors who came here to take away our land.

    3. Even if you are right what is wrong about building with seichel and is it so selfish of me to not to want to sit in traffic for hrs every day

  27. Maybe people would have voted for Follman if the Vaad would have actually explained why he would have been good for us.

  28. Lakewood is not affordable anymore once the new yorkers and gevirim are moving here. YOungeleit are seriously lookinh elsewhere such as browns mills and out of town locations

  29. The more you stop growth, the kess affordable it will become. Its definitely not ad affordable as it was but dont make it totally impossible by stopping growth.

  30. The only reason I voted was because the vaad is obviously putting up a puppet to do their bidding so I had to go out and vote for one of the other candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Raitzik had 65 write in votes. They were sent well before the VAAD gave their endorsement. Election night he got only 57 voters to actually come out to vote for him. His portion + the 100 that Loigman got from people coming out COMBINED would not have been enough for Louie to beat John Antonas. The VAAD really has to work on their 'GET OUT THE VOTE' ground game. By the way, my recommendation to Raitzik is just to stay out of the dirty politics in this town. If the Vaad or the residents of Lakewood wanted an erliche person to represent them, they would have voted you into office a long time ago.
