Orchos Chaim anounces 10k raise for Rebbeim

At the Yeshiva Orchos Chaim dinner it was announced they are giving a 10K raise for Rebbeim! With the calls for Raising Rebeim salaries OC took the initiative. Rabbi Ozeri who brought the plight to the public was the guest speaker the anouncment was made before his speech. This puts pressure on other mosdos to follow. Question is if they will also raise tuition.

  1. Its a fine school but their parent and grandparent body is a little more balabatish and their average tuition is definutely higher than others. They also have more rich grandparents. Tge smaller chadirim with large families nit do balabatish wull nit be able to do this.

  2. Based on the CURRENT tuition numbers, they can all raise the rabeims salaries by 15K and still be very fine. Orchos Chaim can raise it 20K based on their current tuition numbers.
don't reply to my post before 1. you know the current numbers. 2. you actually take out a calculator.

    3. No need to raise any tuition. the money is already there. the question is: where it is going.
ask, think, calculate, realize...then don't hurt anyone.

  5. Tuition in my child school has been going up every year, as well as them adding more students per class. If the money hasn't gone towards raises where has it been going?

  6. Lakewood cheder also has a wealthy parent body they should do the same. The younger newer schools are mostly kolell couples who could not get into the older established schools perhaps the gevirim can help them out.

  7. How about raising the Kolel checks too.

    3. Why couldn't they be straight and write that it was a fundraiser for R' Bentzy Oiring. Pinny L. made am appeal for him outside in the hallway they had tables with credit card machines, envelopes and video screens playing with images of terror scenes and zaka on site. The drashos by the Roshei Yeshiva did not ask for money but it was a chesed of Lakewood fundraiser (the Sandy guys)

    4. HOw can I give the money directly to R' Bentzy and not through a no name organization who you cant trust when they dont say who they are whose in charge of the money???

    5. I agree, if you wanna give try and give him directly. Its so sad these days you cant trust people who claim to be doing chesed and claim they have no self interest, and you dont have to dig deep and find out.....

  15. If they have not raised the rebbeim in a long time than this is only restoring a cut that they deserved. It takes more than just 10K to live

  16. How are youngeleit supposed to live are they not deserving of a raise? have we become a society that no longer is machshiv a youngerman and hes considered a bench kvetcher but a Rebbe who took a job gets all what he needs. Sad sad sad..

    1. Yungeleit have to get supported but that is the achrayus of the kollel and the grvirim of klal yisroel. Rebeim are doing the job of the parents and the parents have an achrayus to make sure they can live normally.

  17. You are right about the yungeleit but come on A rebbi even with a big raise ,still isnt making even half of what he needs to live or make a chasunah . So stop saying a Rebbi gets all what he needs

    1. Rebbe has afternoon job tutoring at night off in the summer, has camp job, eligible for programs has tuition's paid for if kids go to his school, gets help from the many Rebbeim help funds before Yom Tov etc...

    2. Why should your sons Rebbi who gives him his entire Chinuch ,have to take tutoring or camp jobs ? Why should he have to feel like a schnorrer and have to take every program to make ends meet ? If you were machshiv his job you wouldnt want him on programs or having to tutor or be an english teacher . Do you want your lawyer or doctor to have to take programs like a schnorrer ?
