Floodgates of Lakewood bashing have burst open

The hate and sinah has been pouring in from outsiders who've never lived here or dont understand what the reality is. Lakewood, New Jersey bore the brunt of two massive storms this weekend was the opening line to the VIN article. Yeshiva world news pinned the Rechnitz speech with Rabbi Yair Hoffman sticking in his two cents poking fun at the entire Lakewood tzibbur. "It was a powerful, emotional speech that cut to the very heart of a grave and critical problem that is uniquely affecting the Jewish community in Lakewood " Yair Hoffman said. The comments are nothing but bashing the entire Lakewood, by clueless and  ignoramus, haters that have crawled out from their hole. YAY another Lakewood bashing news article. This is even more of a reason why this speech should not have been said in a public forum. The bottom line is there is a lack of space and when you have that it leads to other issues. There are many kollel guys who get the runaround from roshei mosdos  when they apply why were they absolved but the entire tzibbur was blasted?? does this issue also not exisits in other communities? It sure does but when it comes to lakewood everyone likes to spew their sinah. What a shame!

  1. The facts are that you will not find more than a handful of kids who really could not get into ANY school . 99 per cent of the kollel guys you refer to ,want to get their kids into the older established schools and wont accept the newer schools . Well guess what . We are adding close to 2000 kids a year and if you are not a sibling ,chances are you are going to go to a newer school .In 3 years that newer school will be full and you wont even be able to get in there

    1. Why not check the facts before you comment what the facts are?

    2. Your out of touch most Kollel guys who are sending their child for the first time can not get into the older established schools. The parent boxy in older schools are mostly working. It's the newer schools within the last 5 years that are taking in the kollel guys.

    1. Why dont you ask the people dealing with school placement as to how many people are willing to go any of the newer schools and cant get in anywhere at all . You might be surprised that its a very small number . These are facts not assumptions . Yes there is a bigger shortage by heimishe schools but other than that ,99 per cent can get into SOME newer school

  4. Why am I out of touch . That's exactly what I said . We are growing by almost 2000 kids a year and if you are not a sibling ,you will have to go to a newer school even if you are a kollel guy . The problem is that the kollel guys only want the older established schools and then go around saying that they cant get into school .

  5. Yair Hoffman like Shmuly Boteach, Eliyahu Fink, Yaakov Horowitz, and the usual anti yeshiva/ chareidi leaders (I know i missed a few names) are so open minded and understanding. They are very accepting and tolerant of all people....that fit into their tiny narrow twisted view.
    So filled with love.

  8. The chutzpah was that everybody sat there and said nothing . Why does a whole town have to get bizyonos and hotzoas shem rah with shekorim ,so that one guy can get a million and a half dollars

  10. I don't get it. Millions to the Cheder and $1.5 million to Kanerek. The ones who are most discriminatory and judgmental against working parents (even if they learned in Kollel for years.)

If the money was given to other schools, and not them, it would have sent the message he was trying to convey. He is getting bad advice from someone

  11. The real fallout from the speech . I already know of one case of a quiet Rosh hamosad of a succesful school who was considering adding more parallel classes to his school and just decided not to . It is not his parnosah as he gets no money from the school , and said to himself ,why do I need this agmas nefesh . Its enough that I have to be a full time schnorrer to fund payroll ,but now to be called all kinds of names also ? Let somebody else do it .

I wonder if it said "I'm not in a proper frame of mind to give a speech" on Rechnitz's teleprompter. Who wrote that speech for him anyway?

  13. This disgusting comment was posted on VIN (vosiznieas) thank you SYR for this dripping hate against our town. FEH!

"This man speaks the truth! Shlomo Yehuda is the Trump of the Frum! Lakewood is a sick place full of hot heads and deluisional "rosh yeshivas" who see nothing but black and white. instead of no shirt no service they believe no hat and jacket no service. Its no wonder a chunk of the at risk children stem from this ill stricken city of hypocrisy. Thank you SYR for saying it as it is and having the b...... to call out the sick ideology that sadly exists across the sad town of Lakewood. This speech will hopefully create the change that is so desperately needed to renew Lakewood to a city of opportunity for everyone and not some mold that BMG sees fit. Its time for these hot heads to take their hats off and get a reality check into whats really going on!

  15. There are Lakewood haters who hate us for no good reason But that does not take away from the reality that something is wrong -fundamentally wrong. It is called "Elitisism" and RSY put his finger on it. It is partially Gavah but as he said it is also Insecurity. Parents and schools lack the security to deal with the challenges of our youth. They want to stay away from kids that do not fit the box rather than respect them. Feeling guilty and hated is not the point. What we need to do is grow. Each one of s has to demand schools and Rabbonim that are confident and secure and not afraid of every child or family that is different than what we want.

  16. Schools are full .in addition to that they are being asked to take children with severe issues . Theese children require lots of help and take up the time of the staff so that they cant focus on the regular children . It costs huge sums of money to hire special support staff to deal with these types of children . Schools are not being given any money to deal with this . The askanim say " take the kid ". When the school answers back "ok but who will pay for the special needs of this child " the askanim say " thats your problem " . Believe me if every school was given the funding necessary to hire whatever extra support staff they need to deal with out of the box children , then the probkem would be much les severe . But this costs millions of dollars . One difficult child can drain a whole class and the costs to deal with him or her properly are very high .Most schools can not afford 250,000 to make a dinner to honor a gvir in order to try to get funded . The gvir should be calling them and offering money
