Nat Lewin on Menorah placement

There will be a private 9 foot menorah lighting at the town square tonight at 10:00 pm.
Constitution Attorney Nat Lewin writes a letter in a recent Oregon case regarding a Menorah displayed on public property. He writes that the current law rejects the proposition that a private religious symbol on public property violates the establishment clause. However Lakewood Township does not see it that way the Menorah was removed and the tree remains.

  1. The Lakewood menorah was a public menorah 9aid with publuc funds so,it dud violate the clause. A private one does not violate so,its fine for a private person to bring his

  2. HV if your not HH you sure sound the same. HH is the only person in Lakewood who has time to care about such nonsense. PLEASE choose your battles wisely. If you make a fight about everything, even things that no one cares about people start to block you out. They just tune off the minute you open your mouth.

    1. Exactly. This battle has nothing to do with a menorah its about the blue claws deal its about incompetence its about the tax payers its about what goes on in the township Government its about our committeemen and township attorney. This is just an example of how they operate. Think wisely

  3. Our Township Attorney should be fired for what he did. Menashe Miller and Meir Lichtenstein should resign before they cause further damage to our town. The miracle of Chanuka is more important than the two of you ensuring that you can continue to profit personally from your positions. You didnt stand up for what is right simply because you didn't want to jeopardize a steady income. This was all totally unacceptable and if we can't count on you to protect the simplest of our constitutional rights and make sure that we are protected, than what good are the two of you. Please resign before you bring us more embarrassment.
    A freilichen Chanuka

  4. Please note, that the case discussed in this letter is the right to have a single Menorah where there is no xhristmas tree. In the case in Lakewood there was never a question that a menorah, even paid for by the a township is absolutely permissible. The person that objected was a single person whose rhetoric was anti Semitic and inflammatory. And our fun unzere Committeemen didn't object at all. Good going guys. What good are you? Who needs you? You are the exact antithesis of everything we need from our Committeemen.Meir and Menashe, it is time to enter the real workforce, where you will have to compete on your abilities and not your position of influence.

    1. NO ONE CARES!!
But keep ranting with out breathing. Like a broken record player over and over getting on everyone's nerves.
The more you go on non stop not letting anyone get a word in to your mind, the more your fading away in everyone's mind as irrelevant

    2. Did you take a poll about who cares? I got numerous phone calls from some very important people calling to thank me for standing up for what is right. What have you stood up for Mr Anonymous? Get back under your bridge. Oh I forgot. You remain anonymous because you are afraid of me. Yet you have no problem attacking me for everything I say, no matter what side I take.
