  1. Can someone advise how yo get the records for the full boe budget through an OPRA REQUEST. In the past the district stalled and played games it's time to open the books.

  2. Why are they including special needs transportation? This seems to have incurred the highest increase. That bussing is mandated regardless of distance and will be mandated whatever the vote is. Vote no, and send the monitor home!

  3. Prediction. The vaad/IGud will issue a joint statement a few days before the referendum. We understad thevfibancial burden that many in the kehila face on a daily basis. Another tax hike is the last thing we would push for The school monitor is beyond our control and After very careful and thorough considerations after taking many factors of ALL children in our kehila waying the pros and cons with roshei mosdos askanim and rabbunim the costs of private buying will weigh too heavily on the Mishpachos who will lose courtesy busing. We therefore have decided unanimously that the lesser of two evils is the way to go. A small tax hike spread across and shouldered by the entire (tax paying) kehila is the best outcome. We understand many are frustrated and rightfully so however in order for us to work with officials and change the school formula from Trenton we need the entire tzibbur to vote bachdus as one unified voice. We currently set up a task force that is fighting relentlessly for the tzibbur. In the mean time listen daas torah and not to other voices (your brain) or media outlets blogs or pashkevillin calling for pirud. The minimal tax increase (thousands over last few years) is but a small price to pay for the long term benefit of the kehilla.

    1. Be happy if the vaad issues a statement at all. Last referendum with the HVAC the vaad didn't not say anything.

  6. How were they off by 50% in their calculations in one month?! Do they need an accountant to help add the numbers it seems like a lot of the funds are slipping out into someone’s pocket! To go up from 6 million to 9.5 million is ridiculous.

  7. The increase incosts for special ed and transportation are larger each year than the additional school taxes from the new construction. We have special ed expense as if we were a district with 35000 children but the state formula onky treats us axa disyrict with 5000 public school children.

  8. Call the state officials we just elected they did absolutely nothing except for taking our vote. Bob Singer what have you done? KEAN?? RIBBLE??? The vaad told us to elect them now let them take care of business. Call them and tell them we will not vote them on again if they can't advocate for us

  9. Unzer askanim if they want to they could get things moving they are fixed on their own personal projects and pockets and the olam suffers. The only thing powering them is our vote. It's time we stop giving them this power if they continue to abuse it and at crunch time they are Awol

  10. Cut all other non mandated programs there is BOE money paying for pre K this perk should be cut its not open to all that apply most pal don't get that benefit and pay out of their own pocket. How much money is going for this??. Courtesy buying benefits everyone both public and non public

  11. Is it right that one Schi route for 3 kids costs more than a few full bus routes of other children? Look at the amount a single bus route costs for special ed. Does each kid deserve their own bus at the expense of many others? We need gedolim to rule on this. It's

  13. Now that the spotlight is on Christie as he's running for president we should hilight his 2.5% cap on property taxes is a farce. We had our taxes raised in Lakewood over 10% a few years in a row. This cap has so many holes and loopholes people are getting taxed out of their homes.

  14. Dear board member instead of sending articles to TLS why don't you do your job and demand to see the full budget from the district. Why don't you get the attendance records to see the real number of public school students.

  15. Nobody is mentioning the fact that the bus route are becoming longer and longer and much more difficult due to all overbuilding that continues unabated. Fact is that this is causing all the problems in town including the raise in taxes. Every additional house is costing us. We are not responsible to provide affordable housing for everyone that wants to move in from NY.

  16. A development asking for tax exempt status on 300 homes is a chutzpah and a slap in the face to the tzibur. What gives them a right to do it
