Traveling to and from CHOP will be difficult

Given the large number of people expected to be in the Philadelphia area, we know you may have questions about how the event will impact your child’s care at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

CHOP would like to assure all patients and families that we will continue to provide the best care to patients. That said, some clinics and services will have varied schedules or alternate locations. This will help us meet our patients’ needs without impacting the quality of care.

We anticipate the greatest travel impact to begin the evening of Thursday 9/24 through Monday morning 9/28.

Traveling to Philadelphia and CHOP
Due to road closures and detours in and around the city, as well as the surrounding areas, traveling to and from CHOP will be difficult and may only be possible for emergency vehicles and potentially limited patient access for emergencies in coordination with the Philadelphia Emergency management team.

While we will have parking, we do not expect private vehicles to be able to move easily through the area in and around CHOP.   Much of public transit will be seriously affected, please refer to the transit agency sites. HERE
