New square asked, so should Lakewood

Submitted.
The village of New Square published a kol koreh asking outside investors or homebuyers to refrain from purchasing homes within a one mile radius of the shtetel. The reasoning was twofold, first they want to keep it isolated from the outside secular influences which was the reason it was founded in the first place. Second, they need more space for the growing population.
Its no secret Home prices in Lakewood are soaring as many outsiders from NY are coming here. Real estate agents are recruiting full chasidishe communities to relocate or open branches in Lakewood and nearby Toms River. As a result the yeshiva kolell couples who have been saving up for a down payment can no longer afford to compete with an outside investor offering more money. Those coming from NY they are finding a metziah in Lakewood, based on what they would have to pay in Brooklyn.
However the youngerman whose been living in Lakewood for for 5-10 years is essentially being priced out of the market. More so certain Litvish neighborhoods have become chasiddish making nearby homes more atractive and lucrative for Chasidim who will pay more which in turn prices the youngeleit out of these neighborhoods. Is it so bad that we ask just like skver did to keep our town as a place we can afford to live in? We can not move to Brooklyn, Monroe or Williamsburg.
