Group to protest use of chickens for kaporos

An animal rights group plans to hold a protest against the use of Chickens for the Kaporos Ritual, this Sunday.
From their email.
WHEN: Sunday, September 20 from 11am - 2pm
WHERE:Route 9 (btwn Kennedy Blvd & County Line Road, Lakewood, NJ)
We'll be right on Route 9, at the traffic lights between County Line Road and Kennedy Blvd. There is a large shopping area with parking behind a Payless store, which is right on Route 9. If you have any questions, re: location or parking, let us know.

Please bring signs. If you need sign suggestions let us know.
APLNJ is not opposed to the Kaporos ritual, but we ARE opposed to the use of chickens in the ritual.
This barbaric custom is practiced by a small group of ultra orthodox Jews. It is not condoned by all Jews and rabbis and Jewish scholars speak out against it. Yet, a few small sects cling to this old tradition and in the process torment and slaughter thousands upon thousands of chickens.
