Traffic traffic will it ever end?
For those driving kids to school the traffic in thr Pine street area was unbearable. No transportation to school plus an accident that knocked out utility poles on rt 9 is a recipe for disaster. How does the planning board keep on approving developments while the congestion problem is not addressed. The Tzibbur is waisting precious time sitting in local traffic. Is anything being done to fix it?

Chanuka is in the air
Chanuka is here! The yom tov brings simcha and kedusha to all mishpachos. Families get together and spend time with each other. Yeshivos hold annual mesibas bringing talmidim together. Friends and neighbors host chanuka parties, special programming for children all over town. Stores add to the flavor with chanuka sales and free donuts. Its a time for the Tzibbur to forget the long winter nights to forget the darkness and let the light of chanukah spread kedusha and lechtikeit to all.

New Twitter account @lakewoodbuffers for Traffic and Lakewood happenings
With the Chanukah shopping in full swing the tzibbur can once again count on twitter for traffic and other information. Follow @lakewoodbuffers to get alerts and breaking news. This comes following the Lakewood Hock Twitter feed @LkwdNews that shut down a few months ago. With daily construction and unfortunately high volumes of MVA's its always good to know ahead of time which roads to avoid.

Shigella outbreak - prevention is key
Yes, Shigella is going around, Shigella are bacteria that can infect the digestive tract and cause a wide range of symptoms, from diarrhea, cramping, vomiting, and nausea, to more serious complications and illnesses. Infections, called shigellosis, sometimes go away on their own; while other times, antibiotics can shorten the course of the illness. Shigellosis, usually affects kids 2 to 4 years old and rarely infects infants younger than 6 months old. These infections are very contagious and can be prevented with good hand washing practices.
Prevention
The best way to prevent the spread of Shigella is by frequent and careful hand washing with soap, especially after they use the toilet and before they eat. This is especially important in childcare settings.
If you're caring for a child who has diarrhea, wash your hands before touching other people and before handling food. (Anyone with a diarrhea should not prepare food for others.) Be sure to frequently clean and disinfect any toilet used by someone with shigellosis.

Where is the outrage
A 78 year old Meshulach from Brooklyn, Gregory Mirzakandov Z'L passed away after being struck while crossing Route 9. When Conrail wanted to shut Rt 9 the mayor and politicians were outraged and went all out (at least they pretended) to have it moved to a different time. Where are they now? 3 pedestrians were struck last night one of them fatal r'l. The streets are very dark there is no lighting. Why haven't they done anything about it, this is not a new problem, its been like this for who knows how long. We need more LED lights to light up a bigger area. Many street lights are out and the heavily crossed intersections are not lit up well at all. Its time to fix up the infrastructure, not blame others.
