A Nes happened this morning  erev Pesach in the frum area of Yerushalayim as terrorists tried to carry out  shooting attack at a packed bais medrash in the Ganei Geula section of Romema. The terrorists started with a car ramming attack hitting 3 pedestrians  their car crashed into a parked vehicle they got out holding rifles and pointed the gun trying to shoot passesrs by.  For some reason their guns jammed and they fled the scene on foot leaving the guns behind. Media reports say the attack was right near the Central Nachlas Akiva  shul where thousands daven daily. The terrorists deliberately chose this location but bechasdei  Hashem failed.

Israeli media reported a terror hit-and-run in Yerushalayim where three pedestrians were hit by the same car at separate locations. Magen David Adom arrived promptly, treating the injured.

Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene and provided the following statement: "At 07:52, a call was made regarding two people that were hit from what would seem the same vehicle in two different locations."

The terror ramming was on Yermiyahu Street in Romema, Jerusalem, both pedestrians were mildly injured, one was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, the other preferred not to recieve further treatment.

MDA provided them with the initial treatment, .
The paramedics further explained that "People at the scene told us that while he was busy with burning chametz, a vehicle hit him at the entrance to the parking lot between buildings."

It is because these bins belong to the township that several Lakewood poskim, notably Rav Shmuel Felder, a posek of Beth Medrash Govoha, have ruled that there is no halachic concern if town residents leave chometz in their trash cans on Yom Tov. Since the cans are in the reshus of the township, there is no issue of baal yeira’eh and baal yeimotzeh.

No Garbage pick up on Erev Pesach

It's an embarrassment to the Lakewood township committee which is predominantly frum to not arrange for an additional garbage pick up erev yomtov instead of making people walk their garbage for blocks or shlep the cans and trash in back of their clean cars.

This is ludicrous,  any other town or city with frum eesidents has additional pick ups erev pesach. Lakewood isn't bigger then boro park ,Williamsburg, monsey or Monroe who each service the community with an additional pick up. Perhaps we don't pay enough taxes??

The DPW workers are wonderful and doing a great job at the drop off locations but why not come around and pick it up.

Unless your one of the VIP citizens who get a personalized xtra pick up erev yomtov. It all boils down to who you know  Like everything else on this town why do some zones get a double pick up while others have garbage spilling over for another week.

It's the season to clean house that goes for the township committee as well time for term limits the current boys are way too comfortable!

Get rid of the chometz!

R' Aron Lang Appeals State Ruling in Lakewood Funding Formula Case

R' Aron (Arthur) Lang, who has tirelessly devoted countless hours over nearly a decade advocating for fairer school funding for Lakewood, is once again turning to the New Jersey Appellate Division as the State Education Commissioner continues to rebuff all his hard efforts. Faa news reports
See the newly filed appeal HERE
While R' Aron continues to work tirelessly for fairer funding for all of Lakewood, Township and School District officials - including the incumbent Board of Education members who previously claimed to openly support R' Aron - remain silent regarding the Commissioner's continued efforts to subterfuge fairer funding for Lakewood.

The state report blamed Lakewood BOE for mismanagement and that Lakewood is undertaxed.
Mr. Lang's long time 2 simple arguments are; 1) Lakewood's students are not receiving a constitutionally sound education (known as a Thorough and Efficient education, or T&E), and; 2) the fault of this lies squarely in the fact that New Jersey's School Funding Formula (SFRA) is unconstitutional as applied to Lakewood's unique demographic situation (which has many nonpublic students who need transportation but whom are not counted towards funding).
